Karen Weihs - The Colorist of The South

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." Edgar Degas

I am delighted to be a master instructor for www.mastrius.com an online platform for aspiring artists to learn art at home

Paintings that form memories in your mind!

Ethereal. Tonal. Atmospheric. Impressionistic. Textural.

“Nobody paints weather better than Karen Weihs with her highly texturized palette knife strikes and dramatic colors. I have four paintings that I get totally lost in.”
~Susan Holden, Asheville

“Karen Weihs does paintings that you can gaze intently into. You want to keep going back into them for more and more.”
~Linda Chmar, Atlanta

“Karen, when you detail a landscape the viewer sees a place on the canvas.  When you abstract a landscape the viewer sees a place in their mind.  It can be very powerful!”

~Rusty Rose, Chicago

I hope you find something you love in my collections. I also do commissions and you can see some in forever homes here under “About Commissions.” I participate in the shows with The Salmagundi Club in New York City.
